Be Design is a full service interior design studio located in New York City. As Co-Founders, Gabriella and Tobie create individualized design for both residential and commercial spaces. We focus on functionality and comfortability in the spaces we design, while also ensuring our design style remains timeless and classic.
Meet the Team
Gabriella Labi
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
After graduating from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Human & Organizational Development and Corporate Strategy, Gabriella embarked on her professional journey in consulting. Transitioning from consulting, she made notable contributions at a prestigious hedge fund and later at a venture capital firm, honing her robust business acumen and interpersonal prowess along the way.
In 2022, Gabriella ventured into entrepreneurship, founding her own project management company with a primary focus on residential renovation and construction projects. Her drive and passion for interior design ultimately led her to team up with Tobie to establish Be Design, where Gabriella spearheads finance, sales, client services, and project management initiatives.
Tobie Soumekh
Co-Founder and Chief Design Officer
After graduating from Washington University in St. Louis in 2019 with her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a second major in Marketing, Tobie started her career as an Architectural Designer at Rockwell Group. In this role, she gained experience in luxury hospitality design and management of projects from conceptual design to construction administration.
Subsequent to Rockwell Group, Tobie worked as a Project Manager at Turner & Townsend, where she utilized her architectural knowledge and strong communication skills to mitigate challenges and achieve project delivery for commercial and retail spaces.
With a design education, a business second major, and work experience as both a designer and project manager in the built environment, Tobie has developed a versatile skill set that allows her to approach every project with attention to detail and creativity. Her strong work ethic and passion for building memorable spaces ensure that every project is delivered with care.
